VISION

MISSION

TO CONDUCT PROFESSIONAL MILITARY EDUCATION, LEADERSHIP COURSES AND SEMINARS, AND OTHER ALLIED COURSES TO PREPARE AIR FORCE OFFICERS TO ASSUME POSITIONS OF HIGHER RESPONSIBILITY.

FUNCTIONS

  • CONDUCT SQUADRON OFFICER COURSE (SOC) TO PREPARE SELECTED OFFICERS FOR MIDDLE LEVEL COMMAND AND STAFF DUTIES AND PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR HIGHER POSITIONS;
  • CONDUCT BASIC AIR FORCE OFFICER COURSE (BAFOC) TO PREPARE JUNIOR OFFICERS FOR SQUADRON DUTIES;
  • CONDUCTS TRI-SERVICE ORIENTATION AND OFFICER PREPARATORY COURSE (OPC) TO PREPARE CADETS TO BECOME AIR FORCE OFFICERS READY FOR LOWER LEVEL COMMAND STAFF DUTIES;
  • CONDUCTS ACADEMIC INSTRUCTOR COURSE (AIC) AND FACULTY DEVELOPMENT COURSE
  • ASSESSES, DESIGNS, AND DEVELOPS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CONCEPTS, TRENDS, DOCTRINES, STRATEGIES, AND TECHNIQUES;
  • ASSISTS AND ADVISES PAF EDUCATION AND TRAINING INSTITUTIONS ON THE CONDUCT OF LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT TRAINING AND COURSES FOR PAF PERSONNEL;
  • DEVELOPS AND MANAGES THE PAF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES;
  • ASSESSES, EVALUATES AND VALIDATES RESULTS OR FEEDBACK OF THE PAF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
  • DEVELOP ACADEMIC DOCTRINES RESPONSIVE TO THE PRESENT SITUATION

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Air Force Officer School is the primary school for the regular officers of the Philippine Air Force that conduct professional military education, leadership courses and seminars, and other allied courses to prepare air force officers to assume positions of higher responsibility.

AFOS has the capability to conduct various courses such as Squadron Officer Course (SOC), to prepare selected officers for middle level command and staff duties and provide professional development for higher positions and Basic Air Force Officer Course (BAFOC), to prepare junior officers for lower command and staff duties. Other courses being offered by the school are Tri-Service Orientation and pre-course to prepare cadets to become Air Force officers ready for lower level command staff duties, Academic Instructor Course and Faculty Development Courses, and Conduct or host other courses as directed by the higher authority.

The school provides a safe, competitive and dynamic learning environment using modern equipment and buildings. Their school facilities include; a multi- purpose hall where they conduct various activities such as lectures and group discussion, two fully air-conditioned classrooms that can accommodate a maximum of sixty students per room, seminar building with four seminar rooms where student officers conducts group discussion and planning, a flicker ball field which is one of the main highlight of the school. It is where the student officers practice their teamwork and coordination. Lastly is the AFOS barracks where their students are being accommodated
