"Professional Soldiery Starts Here"

Vision

TO BE A LEADING TRAINING INSTITUTION MOLDING FUTURE ENLISTED PERSONNEL OF THE PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE

Mission

TO PROVIDE BASIC MILITARY TRAINING TO CANDIDATE SOLDIERS AND ENLISTED PERSONNEL OF THE PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE

Brief Description

The restructuring of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) organization was the compelling reason to deactivate the 100th Training Wing and activate the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). This gave way to the birth of the Basic Military Training School (BMTS) which was activated effective 21 September 1999 as a unit under AETC. However, it was only partially organized and remained a part of Non Commission Officer School due to some constraints such as the scheduled arrival of the trainees and the the absence of separate barracks and facilities for the conduct training.

The school was given the mission, "To provide Basic Military Training to Candidate Soldier and Enlisted Personnel of the Philippine Air Force" and motto of
"Valor, Loyalty, and Discipline". Valor, for the trainees is to be gallant and courageous. Loyalty, for them is to have an unswerving allegiance to the country and Discipline, for them is to possess a state of obedience to the command authority.

On 16 June 2000, by virtue of SO#31 dated 19 June 2000, the BMT School, was separated from the NCO School. NCO personnel who were detailed with the former were officially assigned with the new Unit. MAJOR NICANOR D. ARINSOL JR PAF was designated as Acting Commandant with an initial manning consisted of seven (7) officers and nineteen (19) Enlisted Personnel. As of 01 September 2016, the School is headed by COL REYNOLD R RUECA PAF (GSC) as its fifteenth (15th) Commandant with LTC RODERICK T REYES PAF as Assistant Commandant. Further, the Unit is supported by eight (8) Officers and fifty-one (51) Enlisted Personnel. The BMTS continuously improved their curriculum to the Pre-entry through the most purposive, progressive learning experience they can offer.

And now, as the only Basic Military Training School of Philippine Air Force, to continue the development of the transformation roadmap, the school emphasize the Core Values: Integrity, Service above Self, Teamwork, Excellence and Professionalism while performing its primary functions which is to conduct basic military training to the Candidate Soldiers and Enlisted Personnel, establish unit training policies, standards, regulations and procedures for the administration and operations of the unit and continuously conducts research and evaluation to improve methods of instructions and training of students.
